PU DAHS organizes 1st orientation ceremony

LAHORE: (Sunday, September 21, 2025): Punjab University Department of Allied Health Sciences (DAHS) marked a historic milestone as the first academic batch of its four BS degree programs commenced classes including BS Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), BS Optometry & Vision Sciences and BS Audiology. In this regard an orientation was organized by the department to familiarize students with campus facilities, academic advising, student support, discipline and safety protocols, and the many student societies that help nurture talent and character. On this occasion, DG Students Affairs, Estate & Security Prof Dr Rehan Sadiq Shaikh, Chairman DAHS Dr Manzoor Hussain, faculty members and students were present. Dr Manzoor Hussain while welcoming the new students highlighted the academic value and societal impact of these programs. He encouraged the pioneer cohort to set a high standard of academic excellence and personal integrity. He also thanked the DG SAES Prof Dr Rehan Sadiq Shaikh for his pivotal contributions to establishing DAHS from curriculum design and financial / administrative planning to building clinical collaborations with hospitals. Prof Dr Shaikh congratulated the students and emphasized that these professional degrees open pathways to rewarding careers and meaningful community service.
